Jazz Basics - Lesson 12 - Solo Ideas for "Afternoon in Paris" (English)

Lesson 12, the final lesson of the Jazz Basics course, covers many ideas for soloing on "Afternoon in Paris." We will build on past improvisational ideas as well as touch on new concepts such as the use of pentatonics over a ii-V-I chord progression in C major, creating a pattern that transitions from Dorian to altered dominant to Lydian! Additionally, we will improve your jazz vocabulary by discussing a technique called "enclosure." Motivic development and embellishment of the head (main melody/theme) of "Afternoon in Paris" are also encouraged.
